Three attributes of an Olympian

To achieve goals have a mind of an Olympian.

Colchester athlete

The Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games is tonight, starting several weeks of competition between the best athletes in the world.

All these athletes have three attributes in common that resulted in their selection to represent their nations: passion; discipline; hard work.

Passion

Passion provides the motivation and focus to achieve any goal. Passion is the fuel that keeps you going through obstacles, hardship and reversal.Β  Without passion, you will be unable to last long in any endeavour.

Discipline

Discipline is the ability to keep your mind on the goal; you give attention to the goal and ignore all distractions.

Hard Work

There is no magic pills to achieving goals, you have to put in the work to achieve any goal.

If you have the opportunity to watch any of this Olympic Games, be inspired that like those athletes you can also achieve great things by adopting passion, discipline and hard work in achieving your goals in life.

    [ Smiles ] I agree with your article’s message.

    Great post, Alex.

  2. Passion is such an amazing thing, and you are right that it is vital to success. But just as important, as you mention, is discipline. I am glad that you included the commitment that passion carries along with it. Great thoughts!

I recently started my own series on passion. I would appreciate your input to see how you view the subject! http://thepostic.wordpress.com/2012/07/26/on-finding-your-cause/

  3. Excellent. Thanks for the post.
